AutomateIT is an AI receptionist for UK tradespeople. It answers your business calls when you can't, takes the job, books it into your calendar and texts you the details. It's run by AutomateIT Online Ltd, a small company in Hull, and it's built for trades first: plumbers, electricians, builders, cleaners and anyone else who books work by phone.
What happens on a call
When someone rings, your agent picks up straight away, day or night, and can handle several calls at once. It:
- tells the caller it's an AI assistant and that the call is recorded (you can't switch this off)
- asks what they need, one question at a time
- quotes from your own prices, including "price on quote" and prices by the mile
- works out whether it's urgent: a burst pipe is, a dripping tap usually isn't
- finds a free slot in your Google, Apple or Outlook calendar and books it
- reads the booking back and checks it's right before confirming
- texts the customer a confirmation and texts you the job
If a caller wants you, it can put them through to your phone.
What you control
You set your services, prices, working hours and the areas you cover. You choose the agent's voice and name. Everything it does lands in your dashboard: calls, recordings, transcripts and jobs. On the Professional and Premium plans it can also send a deposit link by text during the call, and only book postcodes you cover.
What it doesn't do yet
It doesn't reply on WhatsApp, there's no app in the app stores yet (the dashboard works in your phone's browser), and it's one number per account for now. If you use Jobber, booked jobs go straight into it; ServiceM8 is waiting for ServiceM8's approval.

Keep your own number and divert calls to your agent when you can't answer, or take a new number from AutomateIT.
What it costs
Plans are £99, £159 and £249 a month, with about 20% off if you pay yearly. AutomateIT isn't VAT-registered, so there's nothing to add. There's no free trial, but monthly plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee: if it isn't for you, cancel within 30 days and you get your first month back.
